JC, that tool bar above the text-entry box has smileys, formatting options, and much much more. To do a link, just write what you want the link to look like, then select the text and hit the little chain-link icon. It'll ask for where to go and how to act. I prefer using "Open in a new window," but I guess it's up to you.

Sorry the forums are a biatch over here, it's just how I'm rollin.
