Grand Theft Auto IV on PS3

So I'd love for this to be a review, but alas, it is not. See, I'm one of the many that cannot run this game on my Playstation 3. I've spent roughly 5 hours over the past 2 days attempting re-installations, formats, system resets, and anything else I could think of to get it working. Needless to say, I'm writing a blog post and not driving around Liberty City.

My issue seems to be a bit worse than most people's, as I've never been able to see the introduction video. There is just no video, only audio. If I skip that video (hit X in the first couple seconds), I can drive a total of about a quarter mile before the screen locks up, the Playstation becomes unresponsive, and all I have left is the sound of the car's radio, which keeps playing for some reason.

I'm not bringing up this lockup issue on my Playstation 3 to blast anyone, I simply have been amazed by the lack of information on this issue. Rockstar Games has been totally silent about this, which is just not the way to deal with any issue like this one. There should have been a press release once the 1000th caller reported the issue, and there should be something on their website: www.rockstargames.com/support. Even more so, Rockstar USA has even gone as far as to simply stop answering their phones as of April 30th, giving callers the excuse that call volumes have been higher than normal.

Rockstar has decided that hiding from a problem is their way of making it go away.

I will update everyone if I learn anything, but at this point, I'm starting to look at how to spend my $80 credit at GameStop.
