I posted about this utility back in the Top News, but I wanted to share some experiences with it here. I've been using HWMonitor for several months to keep an eye on my system's vitals, but with this new guy on the block, I'm done with CPUID. I initally got a little frustrated when they forked HWMonitor into free and pro versions, but that's acceptable really. Everyone's gotta make a buck, right? They continued to break up the utility though, and now have 3 separate downloads on their site. One is an all-inclusive installer, then the two .zip formats for 32 and 64-bit systems. I don't really get why they had to create separate versions, as products like this Open Hardware Monitor work just fine on both platforms.
Any ways, enough bashing on HWMonitor. Why I really recommend this new one is because it finds more sensors and will graph temperatures for you for free. That's pretty handy. It can show load on the CPUs and GPUs, more clocks and more voltages. Plus, it should compile on Linux and Mac OS too, since it's open. These are all good things.
So check it out over at their download page and let me know what you think.
